Ranchi. st August all over the world, to build awareness on
Innovation and Entrepreneurship and honour them for their contribution to make
the world better to live in. Twelve Entrepreneurs from Jharkhand, including a
number of women entrepreneurs, were invited by the University to share their
Entrepreneurship Journeys.
An event was organized at ICFAI
University on the eve of World Entrepreneurs’ Day, which is celebrated every
year on 21
Welcoming the audience to the
function, Prof ORS Rao, Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI University said, “An
Entrepreneur can change and influence the world around us by providing appropriate
products and services.”Giving examples of innovative entrepreneurs across the
world, India and Jharkhand, Prof Rao highlighted that over 20 alumni of the
University have become entrepreneurs, which includes 6 students that graduated
in 2018. “As per the aspiration survey of the students, admitted in 2018, 17%
of them want to start their own business on completion of their graduation and
our University is committed to help all of them in that regard”, added Prof
Rao.
Sharing his experience as an
entrepreneur, after leaving a corporate job, Mr Rakesh Kumar, MD of Osam Dairy
explained that major challenges faced by entrepreneurs are financing and
attraction of right talent. Complimenting ICFAI University, as the factory to turn out entrepreneurs, Mr
Manish Kumar, CMD, Dynamic Tarang explained
his successful journey for Social entrepreneurship and highlighted that
an Entrepreneur should have a good business idea and must have a passion to
implement it with passion, in spite of several challenges.
Ms Malvika Sharma, Director of Butterfly project, who
motivated and counseled a number of women entrepreneurs explained the
challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, particularly in Eastern India.
Other women entrepreneurs that explained
their experiences in setting up business include Ms Akansha Jaiswal and Ms
Jyoti Kumari. Mr Abhijit Waibhav, Mr
Utpal kumar and Mr Prakash Modak, Alumni of the University that turned into
Entrepreneurs, also have narrated their
success stories.
Dr BM Singh, Registrar of the University, while proposing a vote
of thanks gave the life sketch of Mr Jeff Bezos
, Promoter of Amazon, who is the richest business man for 2017.
